    Read the Directions!
This dryer is an exact replacement for the same model that I have owned for years, but thought had died when it would not turn on, even after pressing the reset button. What I failed to do was read both the printed directons (long ago misplaced) and the engraved instruction (see photo) that are molded onto the front of the saftey plug. After following the instructions that came with the new dryer, my old dryer came back to life. What did I do wrong?1. I failed to UNPLUG the drier and be sure it was cool BEFORE replugging it in.2. When I plugged the dryer again, I failed to press the Test button, BEFORE pressing the Reset buton. Failing to do so the reset button wouldn’t work. Correctly pressing the yellow reset button first, caused the blue reset buton to click fully out and operate.Although I personally don’t usually take the time do this, the instructions molded onto the saftey plug advise you to press the yellow test button EVERY time you plug it in. When you do this, you should hear the blue reset button click outward. Now press the reset button and the dryer should work.On the other hand, should you press the test button and see, while doing so, an LED, located just above the test button, momentarily flash, your dryer has developed an electrical fault. A cause for this might be pulling the cord out too far, beyond the red line on the cord and putting traction on the internal end of the cord. (This did happen to me.) If so, retract the cord to the red line and press test again. Hopefully it no longer will flash when you push test again. If it doesnt flash, it safe to then press reset and use the dryer. However, if the LED still flashes, there is a more permanent electrical problem. Then DO NOT press reset and attempt to use the dryer again.(My older Conair dryer, which I am now keeping for a back up, doesn’t have this LED test light on the plug.)BTW, if you follow the instructions EXACTLY, you shouldn’t have any problems with the recoiling of the power cord, even after years of service.Do NOT press the recoil button and expect the cord to quickly wind itself back into the drier. It won’t. You must press the red retract button and hold it down, while you hold the cord and feed it SLOWLY into the drier. This means you have one hand holding the drier and the button, while your other hand is holding and feeding in the cord. It works almost every time. If it doesn’t, and you have done all this, it could be that the cord was not pulled out sufficiently to created the tension needed on the spring that does the recoiling. . (There is a red mark on the cord to show how far to extend the cord .) If it doesn’t work on a first try, just pull the cord out again, and repeat, being sure to feed the cord slowly back in.There have been complaints that this feature didn’t work or failed to work after a while. I am guessing people were just pressing on the buttom and letting the cord attempt to fly quickly into the drier. It will, but only partially.Perhaps, this damages the mechanism over time.My new drier’s cord recoil strength is just as good as my old drier. While I haven’t had the new one years, I can’t imagine it won’t hold up as well. The only difference I can see between the new and old drier, besides the LED on the saftey plug, is the place of manufacturing. The new one is made in Cambodia, while the old one was made in China.

This Air Dryer looks and performs exactly as advertised !
Very pleased with this Hair Dryer. It is a good size, but not too big for traveling with the Folding Handle.I also ordered the recommended Drawstring Bag that it fits into for traveling, which was well made with good fabric.

Functional travel hair dryer with retractable cord
I wanted to buy a good hair dryer for traveling. I took this one on a long trip last month and it was a substantial, efficient dryer. It is easy to use, including the retractable cord, which is a nice feature. The dryers in hotels are not usually the best. The Conair dryer was a good size, which packed easily in my suitcase. I wish it was a little lighter weight, but the quality, functionality, and color are so good that I felt I purchased the best one.

The Teal Wind Machine That Made Me a Husband Christmas Gifting Pro
I bought the Conair Cord-Keeper dryer for my wife as a Christmas gift, which felt risky—right up there with buying a vacuum or a cooking utensil. But this little teal beauty turned out to be the hero of the holiday morning, just narrowly being beaten out by a Black Hills gold necklace I also gifted her.First of all, the retractable cord is pure sorcery. Instead of the usual spaghetti monster of wires living around the sink and posing significant risk of life, you press a button and zip!—it inhales the cord like a polite vacuum cleaner that went to finishing school. My wife thoroughly impressed.. I took credit as if I personally engineered it.The folding handle makes it perfect for travel, which is great because my wife can now bring salon-level power to hotels or any location where she needs to look fabulous while I locate the nearest coffee. At 1875W, this thing blows harder than my college kids arguing over politics at Thanksgiving—and yet it’s quiet enough I can still hear my beloved KC Chiefs lose yet another Christmas Day game. After the initial joy of her discovering the retractable cord, I flexed and informed her it is ALSO dual voltage—which means it doesn’t just dry hair, it crosses continents. Not since the invention of luggage with wheels has a tool expanded our travel horizons so dramatically. Suddenly Europe doesn’t look like “that place with weird toilets and tiny cars”… it looks like “where she can achieve hair perfection at 220V.” Paris fashion week?? Tokyo sushi tour?? Bring shampoo. The ionic technology is apparently very important—I don’t fully understand it, but my wife says her hair is smoother, shinier, and “less like a frightened alpaca,” which I assume is high praise. It’s also surprisingly quiet; I think I already mentioned being able to hear the TV while this drier is ionically fired up.Color-wise, the teal is classy without screaming “I was an impulse buy in the airport.” And it’s light enough that she can wield it like a professional stylist instead of doing overhead press at the gym.Bottom line: My wife loves it, her hair looks amazing, and I’m now batting 1.000 in the gift-giving league. If Conair makes a version that also remembers anniversaries and takes out the trash to perpetuate my temporary Christmas hero level gifting, I’ll buy two. Five enthusiastic, well-dried stars.

    Powerful and compact!
Love the design, color and the fact that you don’t have to deal with a long cord. It’s smaller but convenient for packing purposes, works really well. Great heat and strong power, I use it all the time. Durability is awesome too

    not long-lasting
retraction works well for a while, then stops working. After a few months of use, the dryer won’t turn on unless the cord is pulled out to a specific length. I am now constantly having to test and reset it. Great concept, doesn’t last long. very frustrating to use now.

    No Cords to Hang Around
My old Conair died of old age. Bought a new one because Conair is my go to hair dryer. It is better than my old one, it drys my hair in a flash. But the power cord the retracks into the handle makes it even better. No cords dragging around, hanging of the closet shelf and getting in the way.

Amazing hairdryer. Lightweight, and I love that it folds up for easy storage. Great for traveling or everyday use. Cord retracts perfect too. Also size is great. It isn’t too small, a little smaller than a regular size hair dryer.
